Easy patch for NES EarthBound Beginnings, which increases EXP and cash you get from enemies, AFAIK it doesn't change translation or any assets. That being said, I recommend you to buy original NES version via Wii U VC, because even if you won't play it, what way you're supporting the series, and you don't have to worry about legal issues. R7037 (R.7037 in Mother) is a robot in EarthBound Beginnings that Ninten's party encounters in the Yucca Desert. It's an optional boss that guards the way to the Ruins of Desert. Under normal circumstances, it can, and will, defeat a party member in one hit. However, before it is fought, Ninten and friends can gain access to a tank, which can deflect R7037's attacks and is the only practical.
Hi all,I’ve recently played through Earthbound, and fell in love with the game. With that being said, I started to gain interest in the series by starting with the original MOTHER (or Earthbound Beginnings). However, I don’t think I can stand playing the original NES emulation on the Wii U virtual console, and I found this fan project among to recreate MOTHER 1 in the style of Earthbound. Does anybody know what happened to that project, and if/where I could get a download of it?Thanks!Link:.
Contrary to what it may seem like, Mother Remake isn't dead. It's still in development, however the release date is unknown, and it's unlikely to be released this (or maybe even several next) year(s).
But still, it's worth the wait. Please don't fall for the 'MOTHER 1 is so very hard' meme.
The only 'difficult' thing about it is the high encounter rate. The enemies themselves are very balanced, actually. People complain about Mt.
Itoi, but come on, you get a PSI move that lets you flee battles 100% of the time by just level 10. It's not hard at all as long as you use your PSI to the best of your abilities. Also, I highly recommend against playing 25th for your first playthrough, take it from someone who did just that. You should probably play 1+2 on GBA.
It feels less. 'clunky', as it adds pixel-free movement instead of tile based movement. It also has a dedicated actual run button (the NES run button only speeds up the game for a fake run ability).
On top of that, you learn some PSI a level before you learn them in the NES version, which while it doesn't sound like much, really helps. The downside, of course, is that the GBA version's music sounds really, really bad sometimes. Other times it's fine, but. The NES version's music will always be superior IMO.If you REALLY think the game is 'too hard', use the easy ring thing they hacked into the fan translation of MOTHER 1+2, but I honestly think MOTHER is fine difficulty wise.
People exaggerate it's difficulty so much.To answer your question: The MOTHER remake isn't dead. Also, Tomato stopped working on it over a decade ago, and since then it's been being made by H.S. (Very talented romhacker) and some other great people.
H.S doesn't like to say how much is done on the hack, but I think it's safe to say it's about a year or two from completion, judging by the few updates that have been posted. Can't wait for it.
